Our new topic that we will also be learning about this coming week is the Five Senses. At the beginning of the week we learned three new songs about the five senses and read a book called "My Five Senses" by Aliki Brandenburg. On Tuesday we did a taste test to experience how we taste with our tongue and discussed that each of us may like or dislike the taste of different types of foods. The foods we tasted during the taste test were lemons, potato chips, and marshmallows. Then, on Wednesday we focused on the sense of hearing by listening to different sounds such as, animals and different forms of transportation. After the children listened to these sounds they then had to state what the sound was they heard. The boys and girls were very excited when they were playing this game individually and together. At the end of the week all of the children had the chance to smell different spices such as cinnamon, rosemary, and ginger. Cinnamon was voted the favorite smell!

This coming week we will continue to learn about the five senses. We will be focusing on the two senses of seeing and touching. We all are very eager to continue our topic of the five senses!

Kata's Lesson:

Last week we learned about different fruits we eat in the Fall. Grapes, apples and pears. We sang about them, observed them and finally ate them. We looked at the colors, touched the skin and smelled the wonderful Autumn fruits.
At the same time we played with nice and colorful Autmn leaves.
We did lots of crative activities. We made apple trees, leaf drawing with crayons, corck painting and a Fall tree pictures with colorful tissue paper. The children made beautiful a decorative projects.
In the following two weeks we are going to discover the magic of Halloween.
