Our new topic that we will also be learning about this coming week is the Five Senses. At the beginning of the week we learned three new songs about the five senses and read a book called "My Five Senses" by Aliki Brandenburg. On Tuesday we did a taste test to experience how we taste with our tongue and discussed that each of us may like or dislike the taste of different types of foods. The foods we tasted during the taste test were lemons, potato chips, and marshmallows. Then, on Wednesday we focused on the sense of hearing by listening to different sounds such as, animals and different forms of transportation. After the children listened to these sounds they then had to state what the sound was they heard. The boys and girls were very excited when they were playing this game individually and together. At the end of the week all of the children had the chance to smell different spices such as cinnamon, rosemary, and ginger. Cinnamon was voted the favorite smell!

This coming week we will continue to learn about the five senses. We will be focusing on the two senses of seeing and touching. We all are very eager to continue our topic of the five senses!

Kata's Lesson:

Last week we learned about different fruits we eat in the Fall. Grapes, apples and pears. We sang about them, observed them and finally ate them. We looked at the colors, touched the skin and smelled the wonderful Autumn fruits.
At the same time we played with nice and colorful Autmn leaves.
We did lots of crative activities. We made apple trees, leaf drawing with crayons, corck painting and a Fall tree pictures with colorful tissue paper. The children made beautiful a decorative projects.
In the following two weeks we are going to discover the magic of Halloween.

Montessori Development Lesson from 28 th of Sept to 2nd of Oct:

In the past week we have started our new topic which is "The Daily Routine".
We went through all the activities that the kids do during the day. We have learnt songs about our morning routine, bath time and dinner time. There are some new toys on the shelves. The fruit basket is a big hit and we have a new number game as well.
This week we studied numbers. We started the week singing new number songs, singing up to 20 and up to 100. Afterwards we had a number scavenger hunt in the classroom. The next day we presented the red and blue number rods with numbers 1 to 5. Then on Wednesday we did the same but presented the numbers 6 to 10. Thursday, we read the Dr. Seuss book "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish." At the end of the week we had gym and yoga, as usual. We continued with the ABC's yoga from last week because the children showed a major interest in these certain yoga positions.

Here are a few pictures from this weeks activities! This coming week we will be learning about the Fall season.
